Swadhaar's leaders bring with them a wide range of experience in finance, IT, legal, accounts, operations, training, and in social development fields.

Veena Mankar, Founder & Chairperson
Ms. Veena Mankar, one of the two founders of Swadhaar, has over 30 years of experience in development and commercial banking, having started her career with the erstwhile finance institution, ICICI Ltd. (now ICICI Bank Ltd.). She has served as an independent consultant to a number of international banks and was the India country representative of WestLB Group, a European commercial bank. In addition, Mrs. Mankar was the founding Managing Director of a Non-Banking Finance Company offering factoring, which established itself as India's largest independent factoring company in just three years under her leadership. Mrs. Mankar continues to be a consultant to the Malta-based FIMBank and serves as a Director on the boards of three of FIMBank's factoring joint ventures, respectively based in India, Dubai and Egypt.

Ms. Mankar earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

RajaRam Kamath, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. RajaRam Kamath has over 20 years of experience in the areas of sales, distribution and business development. He has significant exposure in building organizations from start-up mode to dominant player/market leader. He has also lead business center operations covering all functions of sales and sales support including training & development, business development, reward and recognition, channel management and customer service in FMCG, Telecom and Life Insurance. Mr. Kamath joined Swadhaar as Chief Executive Officer in November 2011 and is now in charge of the overall day-to-day operations at Swadhaar.

Mr. Kamath graduated with a Bachelors degree in Commerce (distinction) from University of Mysore. He has attended various workshops and knowledge enhancement courses, such as, Leadership skills course for Top Management – ISB Hyderabad, Young Managers Fast Track Development Program at IIMB, Personal Effectiveness Lab – XLRI, QIPM: (Quality Improvement Process Management) and Strategic leadership for Micro Finance - HBS – Accion programme.


Pranav Desai, Chief Finance Officer
Mr. Pranav Desai has over 14 years of experience in financial services industry. He has worked with leading NBFC and HFC within financial services domain. He has experience in Finance and Accounts, IFRS, MIS & Budgeting, Retail Asset Operation, Audits, Taxation, Statutory Compliances and System migration. His experience includes working with Start-up organisation and setting up and stabilising the back up support team, internal control system and processes and policies.

Mr. Desai is a Chartered Accountant by profession.


Soju Annie George, Vice President
Ms. Soju Annie George has over 12 years of experience in the field of microfinance. She has been working with the company since 2006 and as part of the start-up team she has played a vital role in the institution's development over the years. Prior to joining Swadhaar, Ms. George was a Manager and Consultant on the micro finance team of the Social Initiatives Group, the former grant-making group within ICICI Bank. The role involved identification or conceptualization and funding of sector level initiatives to build the capacities of the poor. She has served in different positions over the years at Swadhaar including handling Business and Operations. Currently she is spearheading the Business Correspondent (BC) project and is in charge of the Mobile Wallet initiative at Swadhaar. Ms. George also leads the Individual Business Loan at Swadhaar, which she was actively involved in developing.

Ms. George holds a bachelor's degree from the College of Agriculture, Thiruvananthapuram and a post-graduate diploma in Rural Management from IRMA.

Venkateshwara Prabhu, Vice President – Human Resources and Product Development
Mr. Venkateshwara Prabhu has over 10 years of experience in the areas of sales, business development and human resources. He has contributed significantly through various programs of leadership, recruitment, employee engagement and retention in his previous roles. These programs have set the benchmark for further development of other initiatives. He has lead business operations of sales and sales support and achieved rewards for over accomplishing the area and regional targets in the field of Insurance, Sales, Recruitment, etc. His areas of expertise include the development of comprehensive HR strategic, planning for retention /recruitment, budget analysis and performance management. Mr. Prabhu joined Swadhaar as General Manager HR in December 2011, and due to his varied experience to the fore, he is also in charge of Product Development department.

Mr. Prabhu holds a MMM degree from Mumbai University, EPHRM from IIM Calcutta and B.E. degree in Industrial Production from Mangalore University. He also has cleared the Lead Auditor course for ISO 9001, 2000, AMFI and IRDA.

Preeti Telang, Vice President –Customer Service, Client Protection and Training
Ms. Preeti Telang has over 20 years of experience in Development sector specifically in the area of Development Communication. During her career she has developed, designed training modules, conducted Training of Trainers and also conducted a number of communication skills workshops especially for NGO grass root workers. She has experience of working with different marginalised groups like women, street children, sex workers, MSM groups and people living in slum communities.

Since 2008, Ms. Telang has been associated with Swadhaar in providing Financial Education and Financial Inclusion for the urban slum dwellers in Mumbai and Gujarat (India). She was involved in researching, designing and developing the Financial Education Programme for women living in urban slum communities. She is the CEO of associate company Swadhaar FinAccess. She currently leads all the customer protection, social performance initiatives in Swadhaar and also heads the staff training department.

Ms. Telang holds a MBA degree in Social Entrepreneurship from SVKMs Narsee Monjee School of Business Management and Masters of Social Work from Mumbai University.

Mukesh Manjkhola, Vice President – Commercial & Business Development
Mr. Mukesh Manjkhola has experience in the areas of sales, distribution and business development. He joined Swadhaar as General Manager- Commercial in February 2012. Mr. Manjkhola has more than 9 years of experience in Insurance (Training & Development) and a total of 20 years of experience in channel, cluster and team management. Prior to joining Swadhaar, Mr. Manjkhola has worked as a Regional Manager – Gujarat at AEGON Religare Life Insurance Co. Ltd.

Mr. Manjkhola holds a masters degree in Economics from HNB Garhwal University, Dehradun.

Atanu Bhaumik, General Manager – Information Technology
Mr. Atanu Bhaumik is an IT management professional with over 15years of experience at senior management levels in IT Infra & ITES companies. He has been a mentor and a motivator in various projects relating to IT infrastructure, design and planning, technical leadership, and ERP implementation. His major focus areas are project management and infrastructure setup and management. At TOPSGRUP he planned IT strategy, lead and managed IT Operations for 10 years and, under his leadership, transitioned the company to a full equipped IT Infra setup. Mr. Bhaumik joined Swadhaar as General Manager of Information Technology in November 2011.

Mr. Bhaumik has graduated in Commerce with a specialization in Math from Mumbai University, and a CWA/ICWA Intermediate from EMCONS chapter of the Institute.

S. Pasupathy, Consultant – Risk Management, Quality Control and Internal Audit
Mr. Sitaram Pasupathy has over 37 years of banking professional experience covering most areas of commercial banking. Before joining Swadhaar, he was working as Deputy Head - Corporate & SME Credit Monitoring & Debt Restructuring in Union Bank of India. His expertise includes in the areas of Debt restructuring, Risk Management, Policies formulation in Credit Monitoring and controls. He also have intensive and exhaustive experience in branch operations and credit processing across entire range of corporate & retail products & credit validation.

Mr. Pasupathy has graduated in Commerce and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.

Anshu Mundhra, Company Secretary
Ms. Anshu Mundhra is a trained professional in secretarial, legal and corporate affairs and working as Company Secretary for Swadhaar since 2008. She is an associate member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and is a Gold Medalist (LLB) from Pt. Ravishankar University.

Ms. Mundhra has over 10 years of varied and rich experience in areas of Compliances (both Legal and Statutory), IPO, Private Placement of Equity, Formulation of ESOP, Listing Agreement Compliances, Foreign Direct Investment in Unlisted Companies and Due Diligence for Private Investment.
